I brani più ascoltati di sempre su Spotify oggi viaggiano ad un totale di 200.000.000-300.000.000 plays e ovviamente la classifica è compostata esclusivamente da brani vecchi 1-2-3 anni al massimo (VEDI I DATI).
Ma, come accade da sempre con gli album, anche i plays di Spotify di tracce che potremmo chiamare "Catalog", hanno un peso importante in termine di numeri. Ma quanto? Facendo un po' di ricerche è difficile trovare una canzone pubblicata più di cinque anni fa con più di 70-80.000.000 plays.
Fare una classifica anni '60, '70 o '80 diventa un po' complicato e poco significativo in quanto alcuni big non hanno ancora concesso il proprio catalogo (Beatles, AC/DC) o lo hanno concesso da pochissimo (Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd). Sugli anni '90 invece forse si ha un panorama più ampio di quali canzoni di quel decennio continuano in qualche modo ad essere oggetto di streaming massivo.
Ho selezionato i brani con più di 20.000.000 plays, purtroppo non esiste un sistema di ricerca e quindi la classifica che trovate è semplice frutto di analisi artista per artista. Di conseguenza è possibile che mi sia perso qualcosa.

Qualche considerazione: gli USA fanno il buono e il cattivo tempo, il risultato è una classifica poco brit con meteore USA ad occupare posizioni incredibilmente alte. Mi ha sorpreso Iris in mezzo a veri e propri classiconi non solo radiofonici ma proprio da storia della musica (Nirvana, Radiohead, Oasis, RHCP ecc...), così come il dato di Save Tonight di Eagle Eye Cherry. Nevermind dei Nirvana e Californication dei Red Hot Chili Peppers ad occhio sono invece gli album con il maggior numero di canzoni alte in classifica.
Sarà curioso effettuare nuovamente questa analisi tra un anno per vedere come evolvono le cose con l'aumentare del mercato e del numero di paesi coinvolti.
